AI shopping agents

Shoppers increasingly ask an AI assistant to find and buy things for them. Every ShopsBuilder shop is ready for that without any setup.

Search and discovery

• Crawl policy. The storefront's robots.txt allows AI search and assistant crawlers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Apple and Meta) on products, categories, collections and pages, and keeps them out of checkout, accounts and orders.
• Sitemaps. Each shop has its own sitemap with its products and categories, for example https://store.mrkts.app/<your-shop>/sitemap.xml. All shops are listed in https://store.mrkts.app/sitemap.xml.

Buying through an agent

Each shop has its own agent origin, https://<your-shop>.store.mrkts.app. It publishes a Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) profile at /.well-known/ucp, so a shopper's agent can:

• search the catalogue and look up products;
• build a cart and start a checkout;
• read the order after it is placed.

The shopper pays on your storefront, with the payment methods you set up. The order then shows up in your dashboard and your AI agent like any other order.
